Interstate Baptist Association is a 501c3 nonprofit that works closely with around 75 local churches to bring the Gospel to the Pacific Northwest Region. Interstate provides funds to church planters, training for pastors and church leaders, and countless programs for college and youth students. They hold annual events for the pastors to come together to encourage one another, to understand how the region is changing and to go over financial updates. Interstate has a staff of 8 who work closely together to increase the organization’s effectiveness to help the churches within the association. There is a Director of Missions who is at the head and then my supervisor, Ken Harmon, who is in charge of 1 of the 4 “zones” as well as the collegiate ministries. Interstate also works closely with a lot of other organizations with the same mission of bringing the gospel to the Northwest to increase the effectiveness of the work they are doing. These partnerships with the other organizations bring many benefits to the association, as well as to the pastors and church members, which makes it easier to “sell” to new churches wanting to join.
